December Plans

There’s no TBR this month because I have exams stretched till 21st of December but that won’t stop me from reading. Today is 2nd December and I already read a book yesterday. ๐Ÿ˜›

My plan this month is to get the reviews of all the books that I have read this year up. I plan to do that after 21st, that is, after my exams end. Get ready for lots of reviews. ๐Ÿ˜› I have been lagging with tags and awards since September. I will try to do some of them as well.

And obviously, my Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2015 is 150 books which I set up in May, so I got a little late start. Although the Children’s books that I read in November did a good job for filling up my challenge but I am still on 133 books. That means I will have to read 17 books this month.

2015 Reading Challenge

2015 Reading Challenge
Dimple has
read 133 books toward her goal of 150 books.

Seems like a lot, what with all the juggling with exams, blog, and reading. But when I will be done, this packed schedule is going to be worth it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

This is it! ๐Ÿ˜€ My Wrap-Ups and Plans. What are your plans and how far along are you in your challenge if you did set up one that is. ๐Ÿ˜›

August Wrap-up & September TBR

As you all already know I, too excitedly, participated in the August Bingo Book-a-thon. I knew this month was going to be too damn busy because my college started this month and the timing is hell. It consumes almost my whole day. 10 to 5:30? Why? ๐Ÿ˜ฅ plus the hours of travelling. Arghh! :/

Even as I was participating in the book-a-thon I knew that reading even 5 books was going to be a task. Following the book-a-thon I completed 2 books and started my 3rd that’s when college happened and my novels were replaced by my engineering books. Check out my Bingo updates to know about them.ย Book 1ย &ย Book 2

So, as a result no reading was done in mid-August. By the end on August, there were many ARC’s close to their publishing dates. I felt bad for the books so I bunked a few days and caught up on my reading.

Here are the books I read in August-ย

As part of my Bingo read-a-thon:

  1. The Little Prince by ย * 5/5 *
  2. Deception Point by Dan Brown * 5/5 *

ARCs: I did review for these too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

3.ย Tear Drop by Joanne Clancyย * 4/5 *
4.ย Next Stop: Love by Miranda J. Foxย * 3/5 *
5. Know Your Enemy by Tasman Anderson (Review Pending) ย * 5/5 *

Although I didn’t complete my book-a-thon, I followed my rough goal of 5 books. That’s something to cheer about. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย I know it isn’t anywhere near the number of books I read in a month but hey! the 2 books were read on 1st and 2nd August and the other three books were read from 25th August. Not bad, huh?

I also started another book, Uneasy in new Orleans (of which, I have done a review of) but I completed it on 1st September so I won’t include it in August’s wrap-up. ๐Ÿ™‚

September is going to be busier than August as I have my exams this month and the number of assignments is unbelievably horrific. ๐Ÿ˜›

Still, I want to squeeze in reading as much as I can because of all the ARC’s that are set to release in September. I don’t want to be unfair to these books. As we are already 5 days into September and today’s the 6th day. I have already read a few books. One of the aforementioned bunks was on Friday, due to which I read 2 novels and 2 short stories till Saturday morning and then wasted my Saturday trying different themes for my blog. ๐Ÿ˜› Today is Sunday and I wish to finish this novel because the review is due in 2 days.

Here are the books I have already read this month-

  1. Uneasy in New Orleans by Carol Carsonย * 2/5 *
  2. Untouchable Things by Tara Guhaย * 4/5 *
  3. Inconceivable by Cherrie Mack * 4/5 * (Review Pending)
  4. Ino’s Love by Marianne Sciucco * 4/5 * (Review Pending, Short Story)
  5. Welcome to Foxyland: Great Adventures of Little Foxycat by Wald Peterson * 4/5 * (Review Pending, Short Story)

Books I plan to read because I have to review them before they come out-

  1. Never the Same by Bess Richards ( Currently Reading )
  2. Higgs & Soap: Galaxy Delivery by Tony Cooper
  3. Yonder (A Southern Haunting #1) by LeeAnne Hansen
  4. Tarnished Gold (Cantor Gold Crime #2) by Ann Aptaker
  5. White Horse in Winter by Franci McMahon
  6. Pane and Suffering (A Webb’s Glass Shop Mystery #1) by Cheryl Hollon
  7. The Wilson Deception by David O. Stewart
  8. Scrapbook of the Dead (A Cumberland Creek Mystery #5) by Mollie Cox Bryan
  9. Die Again Tomorrow by Kira Peikoff

In total, I plan on reading 14 books in total and reviewing them. ๐Ÿ˜€

All the books are linked to their Goodreads page, if you wish to check them out. ๐Ÿ˜€

I desperately want to complete this list as I don’t like breaking my commitments and when you have an ARC it’s like a commitment.

Anyways, what do you guys think about my crazy schedule?

July Wrap-Up 2015!

The month will be over till the time I finish writing this post. It’s 10 minutes to 12 and I thought I should stop reading and record of this month’s reading experience. All in all it was a great month. I planned on reading 15 books this month despite this month being utterly unpredictable. You can check the books I planned to readย here.

Although I didn’t finish the books I decided to, I read 14.5 books out of 15. Yes, you read it right. I failed with just half a book left but I read 3 books apart from the list. So that makes the total books read in this month to be 17.5! โค 2 and a half books more than I planned but I still regret not completing that half book while rejoicing the fact that I did well for the unorganized mess that I am. ๐Ÿ˜› Although my sleeping and eating schedule is badly tampered by my reading I have no regrets. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If I would have been more thoughtful I would have completed that half book too but it’s okay. I had fun, that’s what’s more important, isn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Here are the books I read in July-

  1. Fifty Shades Of Grey by E.L.James. 2/5ย โ˜†Screenshot_2015-08-01-00-47-37-1
  2. Fifty Shades Darker by E.L.James. 2/5ย โ˜†
  3. Corner Of Paradise by Leonard Holton. 3/5ย โ˜†
  4. Fifty Shades Freed by E.L.James. 3/5 ย โ˜†
  5. Confessions from the pumpkin patch by Karlyle Tomms.ย 3/5ย โ˜†
  6. A Bend In the Road by Nicholas Sparks. 5/5ย โ˜†
  7. The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks. 5/5ย โ˜†
  8. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. 4/5ย โ˜†
  9. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. 5/5ย โ˜†
  10. Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks. 5/5ย โ˜†
  11. If Tommorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon. 5/5ย โ˜†
  12. If I Stay by Gayle Forman. 2/5ย โ˜†
  13. Windmills of the Gods by Sidney Sheldon. 5/5ย โ˜†
  14. Are you afraid of the dark? by Sidney Sheldon. 5/5ย โ˜†
  15. A stranger in the middle by Sidney Sheldon. 2/5ย โ˜†
  16. Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon. 3/5ย โ˜†
  17. Other side of midnight by Sidney Sheldon. ย 2/5ย โ˜†

I would have loved to add Master of the games to the list but half book doesn’t count. It will make it’s way in August’s wrap up despite the book-a-thon I am taking part in. ๐Ÿ˜€

This month has taught me to plan less than the time I have in hand so that I don’t regret not being able to complete my goal because of being winded up in other important works. Reading more books than you planned can make you happy and reading less can make you sad. I have mixed feelings. Happy ๐Ÿ™‚ because I exceeded the number I planned and sad because I didn’t exactly complete my TBR list. :/

What do you guys think?

1 Day for 1 Book!

Well, I again didn’t finish the book I was supposed to do yesterday. In my defense, the book didn’t appeal to me much. I wanted to like it but couldn’t! I won’t say that I hated it but instead it’s just not for me. The ending was good but the plot of The other side of midnight by Sidney Sheldon has a war background and that has never interested me much.

I wasn’t even able to complete half the book yesterday. I rather decided on getting some sleep. That was quite an odd sleeping schedule. I went to sleep at around 6 pm and faked a headache so my mom would let me sleep. ๐Ÿ˜› (Evil! ๐Ÿ˜› )

Then today I woke up at 2 am, my internal alarm clock loves striking at odd hours. I started reading and was done with it by 11:45 am. I sat there deciding how much I liked the story. Debating on all sorts of things that make me like a book.

After I finish reading a book the first thing I do is rate it on goodreadsย with the feeling of the book still fresh in me. I debated over giving it a 3 star. I hit the 3 stars and before saving it I paced my room. I gave 3 star to the book I read before this and I clearly enjoyed that better than this one, that was Rage of Angels. So, unwillingly I gave it 2 stars. :/ It felt bad to do so. To be honest I didn’t have much expectation from the book, given its summary on goodreadsย but it being on my list was a good reason to read apart from it being written by Sidney Sheldon and I don’t regret it. My expectation was based on Sidney Sheldon’s writing. I guess marathoning Sidney Sheldon’s books made me too familiar to his style that I felt disappointed with the last two books I read after reading a wonderful book by him.

But the feeling didn’t last long. As soon as I started with the last book of this month, that is Master of the games, I was captivated. โค

I am 20% through this book and enjoying it. Because of my interest in it, it is going to be a fast read. I had to force myself to take a break and write a post.

I will leave you guys here till midnight so that I can complete that interesting story and post a July Wrap Up because in August I will be participating in my first Book-a-thon and want to update my wrap up before I post about it. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ย

5 Days left to read 5 Books!

This month is the first time I made a to be read list–ย July 2015 TBR!ย ๐Ÿ˜€

Before this, I used to read whatever I wanted to, whatever interested me in the moment but I decided to give pre-deciding the month’s reading a try. I already knew this month was going to be a busy one, yet I thought that I would be able to read 15 books this month.

Easy said than done. I was on a great start and then everything went downhill. :/

The mid-July was the most confusing time for me. I was torn in between what I should be doing and I wanted to… apparently it had something to do with my career and whatever decision I made would affect my future completely.

So, eventually I didn’t get much reading done. If you have read myย July TBR listย then you might be well aware of the fact that I was to read 7 of Sidney Sheldon books out of the 15 I planned. So, with only 7 days I left I took a look at my list and realized that I would have to read 1 book each day if I wanted to complete the challenge I set.

Then I did a thorough check of the list and realized that another book was left to be read and that made the total to 8. I felt that I was going to fail my first ever list.

Today pumped me with hope, I finished reading If tomorrow comes by Sidney Sheldon, which I had been reading for two days, in the morning. Then starting If I Stay by Gayle Forman seemed a good idea. I started it somewhere about 7 am and was done by 1 pm with too many breaks of course. (I am hungry all the time. ๐Ÿ˜› )

By 2 pm I started Windmills of the Gods by Sidney Sheldon and was done with it by 5 pm. I am thinking about starting my 3rd book for the day, maybe I would be able to complete, at the very least, half of it.

Even if I don’t, today has been a good reading day. โค Counting from tomorrow, that is 27th July, I have 5 days left to read 5 books! I hope I get through and don’t disappoint myself. ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

May-June Vacations Wrap Up !!

June has been a great month as far as my reading is concerned. My vacations started in May so I had the complete May and June for reading. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Though I haven’t read as many books as I would’ve liked to read. Most of the times I wasted my time surfing the internet. But that’s okay. ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

Some of these books, I read because I wanted to and some of them because they were either recommended or over-hyped. In total, I read 28 books in these months. ๐Ÿ˜€

I will soon upload reviews for the books. If only I would have taken some time out from the time passed on social networking and watching stupid shows, I would’ve had the reviews up already.

The books that I started but didn’t finish reading-

1. Are you afraid of the dark? by Sidney Sheldon. Read 1 chapter.
2. A Corner Of Paradise by Leonard Holton. Read 3 chapters.
3. Fifty Shades Of Grey by E.L.James. Read 20 chapters. I don’t know why I am reading this. But have already invested a lot of time in it so will complete the book.

I have so many books that I want to read, so for the first time I will be making a TBR list. Hope I follow the list. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜›ย
