The Coffee Book Tag!

I was tagged by Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse. ❀ Β  I am not exactly obsessed with coffee but I still like my coffee strong. πŸ˜› Let’s get a cup of coffee and get on with this tag. πŸ™‚

Black: A series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.

Before you guys throw coffee at me, I would like to say something in my defense. I’ve watched all the movies and for me reading the books after watching the movie takes out the fun. I know, I know, you will say that there is so much in the books that was left out in the movies. I agree, I totally agree but I still don’t have it in me to pick up the books… maybe someday but not in the near future.

Peppermint Mocha: A book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year.

I don’t know about others but Christmas time always makes me want to read books that have some christmas-y theme. I will choose “A Christmas Carol” for this.

I am still to read it. *sigh* What am I doing?

Hot Chocolate: A favorite children’s book.

Racking my brain… can’t come up with any… Can I say, all? Does it count as an answer? Oh my God… Why can’t I think of a book?…

Double Shot of Espresso: A book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Without any doubt, this has to be the book that kept me on edge the whole time. It’s seriously good.

Starbucks: A book you see everywhere.

With the new season out, it’s literally everywhere.

That Hipster Coffee Shop: A book by an indie author (a shout out)

The Museum: A Collection of Dark Poetry

This was sent to me for review and now is the only poetry book I own and I love it. I just love it. It is bone chilling and I got goosebumps when I read it.

Oops! I Accidentally Got Decaf: A book you were expecting more from.

After reading “The Fault in our Stars” and the high praising reviews for “Looking for Alaska” I had high expectations from “Looking for Alaska”. Expectations do hurt, man!

The Perfect Blend: A book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying.

This book has emotions, you can feel the words, you can feel the characters… the story… the pain… the laughter… the… everything.

Green Tea: A book or series that is quietly beautiful.

Road trip, YES! πŸ˜€

Chai Tea: A book or series that makes you dream of far off places.

The way Anna keeps on talking about Paris. ❀

Earl Grey: A favorite classic.

No words needed! ❀

As for the tags-Β

As usual you guys can do this now, later or never. Have fun with it. That’s all it’s about. ❀ πŸ˜›

Favorite Christmas Tradition!

I love everything about Christmas so pointing out something that is my favorite is difficult. πŸ˜€

But I think, for me, the favorite part that has kind of become a tradition in my family is opening the gifts on the Christmas morning together. Unless everyone is present or everyone has seen their gifts you can’t open yours alone. We have breakfast and then pick out our gifts from under the tree and open it one by one. Everyone staring at the one opening the gift with anticipation. The excitement in the room is contagious. πŸ˜› πŸ˜› Kind of makes it more fun! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Nothing great exactly but a little something that never fails to make me smile. πŸ˜€ ❀

Day 1 | 12 Days of Christmas Blogging!

Christmas! I have always loved December because of Christmas. The vibes for the whole month makes me cheery and bubbly. ❀ πŸ˜› I initially thought about doing a lot of Christmasy posts but well, my exams didn’t agree with me. πŸ˜› I still have one left which is on the 21st but if I wait till then, then I won’t get 12 days to complete this tag, so here we go. πŸ˜›

Favorite things about Christmas!

I love everything about Christmas! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ It makes December kind of my favorite month every year. ❀

More than anything it’s the good vibes from everything. It’s the time of sharing and giving. The love and positivity leaves me feeling all light-headed with happiness. πŸ˜€ Β I love giving gifts and love playing the role of Santa. πŸ˜› Thinking about gifts and shopping for them is fun! πŸ˜›

This isn’t exactly what I do but you get the picture! πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Decorating the Christmas Tree! ❀ ❀ I love, love, love to do it. I love making my tree look all blingy and beautiful. There’s no such thing as too much decoration. I am like a kid when it comes to decorating my tree! ❀ πŸ˜€

All the food! The fattening devil! πŸ˜› Cakes, Chocolates, Cookies, Sweets… need I say more? πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

And all the beautiful pictures that take over internet! ❀ ❀

There’s not a thing that I don’t like about Christmas. I just love everything. This is the most peaceful and laid back time of the year for me. πŸ˜€ Everything from the weather, food, decorations, gifts; to people makes me happy. ❀ ❀

The Reading Habits Tag!

The Reading Habits Tag!

The Reading Habits Tag!

Thank you ErikaΒ andΒ JennaΒ for tagging me! πŸ˜€

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Though I tend to read anywhere and everywhere, a little corner of my house is my favorite place i.e. my bed. It is so comfortable and just perfect. ❀ An escape from the world. ❀

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I use random stuff when I am being too lazy to get the bookmark. πŸ˜› Now-a-days I am more of a bookmark person. πŸ˜‰

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certainΒ amount ofΒ pages?

No, I at least have to complete the paragraph I am on before keeping the book down which mostly results in the end of the chapter. πŸ˜›

Do you eat or drink while reading?

Sometimes. Although I am a foodieΒ I don’t usually have snacks pre-decided while reading, if I am hungry then that’s a different story. πŸ˜› I always have a bottle of water with me, I keeping on taking a sip after every few pages.

Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

Not exactly but I don’t mind unless it is a disturbance. Music in a low volume in the background gives the perfect ambience for reading! ❀ (That’s the bookstore trick! πŸ˜› )

One book at a time or several at once?

One book at a time because I don’t usually put down a book unless I finish reading it. Even if I pick up another book, I will not be going back to the previous book until I finish this one.

Reading at home or everywhere?

I have a few pictures of me reading in my About page. That answers this question itself. πŸ˜›

EVERYWHERE! ❀ ❀ Reading on train is so peaceful, reading while you wait for something or someone is utilizing the time, reading when you are at college and have free time gives a great excuse for not talking and reading at home is just ❀

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently in my head, let me be honest, none of my friends or family is interested in books. A sad thing but it’s true! :/

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

No, not at all. How much ever dreadful the passage, page or chapter might tend to be, I won’t read ahead or skip pages. No, that’s not good.

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

What kind of a question is that? Of course keeping the spine new. Who would want to break the spine? I remember reading this one book that gave me cuts like hell yet I tried not to crease the spine.

Do you write in your books?

Yes and no. I used to write my name on the front page and some self-reference points in the front or back page and nothing else. Now, I don’t even do that. Reasons? One: I have grown lazy. Two: I have goodreads where I can get the summary whenever I want to. Three: I wouldn’t want my book to be ruined with my tacky handwriting.

That was it, now is the time to tag people. Whom should I tag? Let’s just select random blogs I follow. πŸ˜›Β

Happy Reading! ❀ ❀

The Burrito Bowl Book Tag!

burrito-bowl-book-tagI was tagged by Shivalika @ Β Whimsy JournalsΒ to do this tag. Thank you so much, Shivalika! πŸ˜€

Tags like these always get me thinking because for me there isn’t one emotion, there are many. So, to pick out a specific is brain-wrecking for me. But the feel after completing such tags is always good! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Let’s get started- πŸ™‚Β

Β RICE: THE FOUNDATION β€“Β β€œThe book that got you into reading (or book blogging).”

I always loved to read so in true sense it would be my school essay books or English textbooks. But my first book was- well, I am confused. I think I read The Famous Five and the Secret of the Caves by Enid Blyton first and then David Copperfield Exercise Book. This was obviously the start of my obsession with books. ❀

BEANS: THE FILLER β€“Β β€œA book with a whole lot of nothingΒ happening.”

Fifty Shades Darker by E.L.James. Need say more? If not for the little blackmailing, gun firing and coma stuff in the last book, I would most probably have named the whole trilogy. But the climax of the last book saves it.

PROTEIN: THE BUILDING BLOCKΒ β€“Β β€œA book quote to live by.”

These are from The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. There are many quotes like these in that book that have my heart. ❀

Do I even have to say anything? All of the Harry Potter quotes, come on, man, you have to love all of them. No exceptions! πŸ˜€

FAJITAS: THE CRUNCH OF TEXTURE β€“Β β€œA book with immaculate world-building.”

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Maegan Spooner.

The only books I have read that can fit this question are the ones I am going to select, because, no option. I liked both of these books very much. πŸ˜€

SALSA: THE DANCE OF FLAVOUR β€“Β β€œA book that kept you on your toes.”

Deception Point by Dan Brown. This book had me enthralled and kept me alert till the last fullstop.

CORN: THE EXPLOSION OF SWEETNESSΒ β€“Β β€œA memorable scene involving friendship/romance.”

Can’t pick one. There are way too many memorable scenes that I can’t figure even one out. πŸ˜›

CHEESE: THE BOND OF CALCIUMΒ β€“Β β€œTwo characters from different books you wish could be friends.”

Umm… this is a difficult one. Can I just skip this one? :/ I could have not included this question but then I would have felt like I cheated. :/

SOUR CREAM: THE TANGY TOPPERΒ β€“Β β€œThe quirkiest character you’ve ever read (protagonist or supporting).

Lola from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.Β With all those wigs and weird clothes, Lola has to be the quirkiest. πŸ˜›

GUACAMOLE: THE COST OF CREAMINESS β€“Β β€œA book you paid too much for (based on utility experienced).”

Fortunately, None! πŸ˜‰

LETTUCE: THE HANDFUL OF CRISPNESS β€“Β β€œA refreshing concept/theme in a book.”

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour

For me, it is Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgon Matson. I will take a road trip someday just because of this book. πŸ˜€

CHIPS: LE PIÈCE DE RΓ‰SISTANCE β€“Β β€œA must-read recommendation if you like [this book/genreβ€”you decide!]”

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. ❀ That’s my favorite book, you don’t need any other reason to recommend your favorite book, do you? πŸ˜›

TABASCO: THE KICK TO THE FACEΒ β€“Β β€œYour favourite fight/action sequence.”

How about a punch in the face? πŸ˜› Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K.Rowling.Β

Well, okay, okay, I know Hermione slapped Draco in the book but a punch is way more dramatic. πŸ˜›

(p.s. I haven’t read Harry Potter but I couldn’t think of any other scenes. :/ )
