Favorite Christmas Tradition!

I love everything about Christmas so pointing out something that is my favorite is difficult. πŸ˜€

But I think, for me, the favorite part that has kind of become a tradition in my family is opening the gifts on the Christmas morning together. Unless everyone is present or everyone has seen their gifts you can’t open yours alone. We have breakfast and then pick out our gifts from under the tree and open it one by one. Everyone staring at the one opening the gift with anticipation. The excitement in the room is contagious. πŸ˜› πŸ˜› Kind of makes it more fun! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Nothing great exactly but a little something that never fails to make me smile. πŸ˜€ ❀

Day 1 | 12 Days of Christmas Blogging!

Christmas! I have always loved December because of Christmas. The vibes for the whole month makes me cheery and bubbly. ❀ πŸ˜› I initially thought about doing a lot of Christmasy posts but well, my exams didn’t agree with me. πŸ˜› I still have one left which is on the 21st but if I wait till then, then I won’t get 12 days to complete this tag, so here we go. πŸ˜›

I love tagging people but this time I won’t be tagging because they won’t have 12 days to complete it either so… :/

Favorite things about Christmas!

I love everything about Christmas! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ It makes December kind of my favorite month every year. ❀

More than anything it’s the good vibes from everything. It’s the time of sharing and giving. The love and positivity leaves me feeling all light-headed with happiness. πŸ˜€ Β I love giving gifts and love playing the role of Santa. πŸ˜› Thinking about gifts and shopping for them is fun! πŸ˜›

This isn’t exactly what I do but you get the picture! πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Decorating the Christmas Tree! ❀ ❀ I love, love, love to do it. I love making my tree look all blingy and beautiful. There’s no such thing as too much decoration. I am like a kid when it comes to decorating my tree! ❀ πŸ˜€

All the food! The fattening devil! πŸ˜› Cakes, Chocolates, Cookies, Sweets… need I say more? πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

And all the beautiful pictures that take over internet! ❀ ❀

There’s not a thing that I don’t like about Christmas. I just love everything. This is the most peaceful and laid back time of the year for me. πŸ˜€ Everything from the weather, food, decorations, gifts; to people makes me happy. ❀ ❀

(The Walker Boys #2)
Publication date: February 4th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

She’s never had the courage to hold on to anyone. He never learned how to let go of what he wants.

Delaney Shaw isn’t looking for anything complicated. After her teaching career is put on hold, she decides to spend the summer in Georgia with her best friend. Lanie lives for the here and now, and she isn’t thinking past the end of the summer. She’s never had any problem being unattached, because she learned a long time ago that life is safer that way.

Until Reece Walker decides to change her mind.

Almost a year after his ex-wife’s death, Reece is still reeling from her passing. He’s devoted himself to raising their son and working his family’s farm to keep himself grounded. Reece feels like he’s lost sight of the man he used to be, and he’s not sure how to find his way back.

Everything changes when the woman he’s unsuccessfully tried to forget walks back into his life.

Even though she’s fighting their sizzling chemistry, Lanie is losing the war. But love isn’t always like it is in the movies, and they have real issues. Lanie is terrified Reece’s small town won’t accept their interracial relationship, and she doesn’t know how to let him in.

Lanie has had years to build her defenses, but Reece isn’t the sort to give up without a fight. If he can counter Lanie’s fears with the future only he can offer her, maybe they can both learn to breathe again.

August Wrap-up & September TBR

Wrap-Up
As you all already know I, too excitedly, participated in the August Bingo Book-a-thon. I knew this month was going to be too damn busy because my college started this month and the timing is hell. It consumes almost my whole day. 10 to 5:30? Why? πŸ˜₯ plus the hours of travelling. Arghh! :/

IMG_20150728_144203IMG_20150728_144120IMG_20150728_143800

Even as I was participating in the book-a-thon I knew that reading even 5 books was going to be a task. Following the book-a-thon I completed 2 books and started my 3rd that’s when college happened and my novels were replaced by my engineering books. Check out my Bingo updates to know about them.Β Book 1Β &Β Book 2

So, as a result no reading was done in mid-August. By the end on August, there were many ARC’s close to their publishing dates. I felt bad for the books so I bunked a few days and caught up on my reading.

Here are the books I read in August-Β

As part of my Bingo read-a-thon:

  1. The Little Prince by Β * 5/5 *
  2. Deception Point by Dan Brown * 5/5 *

ARCs: I did review for these too. πŸ˜‰

3.Β Tear Drop by Joanne ClancyΒ * 4/5 *
4.Β Next Stop: Love by Miranda J. FoxΒ * 3/5 *
5. Know Your Enemy by Tasman Anderson (Review Pending) Β * 5/5 *

Although I didn’t complete my book-a-thon, I followed my rough goal of 5 books. That’s something to cheer about. πŸ˜‰ Β I know it isn’t anywhere near the number of books I read in a month but hey! the 2 books were read on 1st and 2nd August and the other three books were read from 25th August. Not bad, huh?

I also started another book, Uneasy in new Orleans (of which, I have done a review of) but I completed it on 1st September so I won’t include it in August’s wrap-up. πŸ™‚

September is going to be busier than August as I have my exams this month and the number of assignments is unbelievably horrific. πŸ˜›

Still, I want to squeeze in reading as much as I can because of all the ARC’s that are set to release in September. I don’t want to be unfair to these books. As we are already 5 days into September and today’s the 6th day. I have already read a few books. One of the aforementioned bunks was on Friday, due to which I read 2 novels and 2 short stories till Saturday morning and then wasted my Saturday trying different themes for my blog. πŸ˜› Today is Sunday and I wish to finish this novel because the review is due in 2 days.

Here are the books I have already read this month-

  1. Uneasy in New Orleans by Carol CarsonΒ * 2/5 *
  2. Untouchable Things by Tara GuhaΒ * 4/5 *
  3. Inconceivable by Cherrie Mack * 4/5 * (Review Pending)
  4. Ino’s Love by Marianne Sciucco * 4/5 * (Review Pending, Short Story)
  5. Welcome to Foxyland: Great Adventures of Little Foxycat by Wald Peterson * 4/5 * (Review Pending, Short Story)

Books I plan to read because I have to review them before they come out-

  1. Never the Same by Bess Richards ( Currently Reading )
  2. Higgs & Soap: Galaxy Delivery by Tony Cooper
  3. Yonder (A Southern Haunting #1) by LeeAnne Hansen
  4. Tarnished Gold (Cantor Gold Crime #2) by Ann Aptaker
  5. White Horse in Winter by Franci McMahon
  6. Pane and Suffering (A Webb’s Glass Shop Mystery #1) by Cheryl Hollon
  7. The Wilson Deception by David O. Stewart
  8. Scrapbook of the Dead (A Cumberland Creek Mystery #5) by Mollie Cox Bryan
  9. Die Again Tomorrow by Kira Peikoff

In total, I plan on reading 14 books in total and reviewing them. πŸ˜€

All the books are linked to their Goodreads page, if you wish to check them out. πŸ˜€

I desperately want to complete this list as I don’t like breaking my commitments and when you have an ARC it’s like a commitment.

Anyways, what do you guys think about my crazy schedule?

Book 2 | August Bingo Book-a-thon!

IMG_20150728_144120

IMG_20150728_144203Let me grab my mug first, please. Okay so let’s follow my ritual… cover the mug with one hand… shake the mug violently… throw the chits on the floor… close the eyes… breathe… feel the chits… pick one up… unfold it… open your eyes and read after letting out the breath that you have been holding of course!

The second book I got is… drumrolls please… Deception point by Dan Brown. πŸ˜€ Β

Β I haven’t read a Dan Brown yet so this book made it on my list and I actually wasn’t hoping for it but if not for this I wouldn’t have probably picked it up even by the end of the year. (I sometimes possess the quality of shamelessness. πŸ˜› I should have read it, list or no list, right? )

Let me cross out the block first. πŸ˜›

IMG_20150728_144349

There, done! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

To my dismay, I didn’t read after completing The Little Prince on August 1st and then yesterday, august 2nd was also not utilized completely, I ended up reading only 100 pages. :/ But that’s okay, this is my 2nd book for this month and the month has just started so I won’t be hard on myself. πŸ˜› πŸ˜€

What are you guys reading and has any of you participated in this book-a-thon?Β

Book 1 | August Bingo Book-a-thon!

IMG_20150728_144120

Time to reveal the first book I got for reading this month. As you all know I am participating in my first Book-a-thon (if you don’t, then clickΒ hereΒ πŸ™‚ ) I was pretty much excited because I love surprises and this was surely going to be a pleasant one. ❀

IMG_20150728_143800Some of the books in this chart are the one’s that I wanted to read and some are the one’s that I
have been pushing back in my TBR pile. I got the first book from the latter.

But whatever, if they are on my TBR pile I have to read it someday so why not now?

Can you guess what I got? That’s ridiculous, you obviously can’t. πŸ˜› (Don’t worry, I couldn’t either. πŸ˜‰ )

IMG_20150728_144203First things first, I grabbed my mug and my tablet, to obviously click a picture. (Though the mug’s picture is from my yesterday’s post. πŸ˜› )

After throwing the chits on the floor (for some dramatic effect πŸ˜› ) I closed my eyes and picked a chit.

I didn’t even realize that I was holding my breath until I unfolded the chit.

And I got… drum rolls please… The Little Prince byΒ Antoine de Saint-ExupΓ©ry. Β

I know, I know, it’s Children’s literature and I should have read it way back but I didn’t. Don’t kill me please. πŸ˜› Anyways after those hectic 5 last reading days of July (you might know what I am talking about if you read my posts) this was just what I needed, a light and easy read. I sailed through it. I gave it 5/5 stars because why not? It is a literally good book. ❀

I crossed out the number 14 block and felt damn good! πŸ˜€ No exact reason for me behaving like a 5 year old. Maybe I will be able to answer it in my birthday post. Yes, this is my birthday month and I am planning on doing a pouring-the-heart-out post. Stay tuned for it! πŸ˜‰

After finishing the book, I decided that I should see what my next book is, it didn’t turn out what I was hoping for but hell, that’s the fun, right?

I started reading it but then decided that I should officially call it a day and just laze around internet watching my latest obsession of cake decorating videos because why not? I deserve a break after giving up sleep and food to complete my reading goal and I didn’t exactly have any goals for this month. πŸ˜€

You will get to know what book I got next tomorrow. Watch out. πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€
